Possible bug with Transition 101 mission

I've tried starting the mission Transition 101 and it needs me to hold R2 to hold my board, however, when I hold R2 nothing happens. When I leave the event, holding R2 makes my character crouch and I have no idea how to fix this issue as it cannot be changed in the settings. Unfortunately, this basically makes it so I cannot progress. I am using a PS4 controller btw. If anyone can help or use this feedback to possibly fix this for other/future players that would be appreciated.
