Right on the left stick brings up the social tab
Whenever I press right on the left stick, it brings up the social menu, so does right on the D-pad.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Same here. Using an Xbox one controller
found a fix, it is a steam issue,
On the top right of Steam go to settings > Controller, then go down to the bottom and click desktop layout and disable it
