Skate 4 "Transition Skating 101" Mission grab not working

Question

In the mission "Transition Skating 101". The very first objective is to hold R2 to grab the board. Im using a PS4 controller and while holding R2, I can see the input reading on the controller diagram (bottom left of screen) but my charatcer isn't grabbing the board. I switched to my keyboard to test if it works, which I have to hold C. Still theres no character reaction. Im unable to progress through the mission.

I had to hold down both Joysticks and R2 to grab the board, it wouldn't let me hold the Grab and was very quick. It seems glitchy and needs a bit more work to successfully hold grabs. UPDATE: Using the grab off the ramp in the same mission I had to hold both R2 and L2 to perform a basic grab.
