Why they email everyone and then not approve all of them

Why would they send out the email and directions of getting the code and download it they just don’t approve. Why not just send it to the only people able to play it so it’s not just putting bait rig...

I got selected by ea to play this playtest and I haven’t even got the email from them I’m in the uk and the playtest supposedly started at 9pm so I have no idea
