Linking Your Gamertag, PSN ID, and Origin Account
The Xbox 360/Xbox One and the PlayStation 3/PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita both use their own types of account for managing your games and online interactions; Gamertag for Xbox, and PSN ID for Playstation.
For EA games, these accounts should be linked to your Origin account.
Note for Next Gen Consoles: Your gamertag or PSN ID carries over from Xbox 360/PS3 to Xbox One/PS4.
If you have played any EA game on the last generation of consoles, please make sure you find and use that same account when you play on next gen.
Linking your accounts:
Your Gamertag/PSN ID and Origin Account should be correctly linked when you first access an EA game online if you use the same email address for both.
We recommend that you check your Origin account to ensure your emails match.
If the email address for your Gamertag/PSN/PSVita ID is different than the address for your Origin account, connect them using the steps below:
- Open the Origin client and click the Friends button, then Add a Friend. If you do not have the Origin client installed, you can download Origin for both PC and Mac.
- In the Import Friends menu, you can choose to "connect" your Xbox LIVE, PSN, and EA accounts. Simply sign in with your account details to connect.
If you have issues connecting your account, you will need to properly link them by contacting a Game Advisor.
Did you forget if your Origin/EA Account is linked to your Gamertag/PSN ID?
I am not finding any "import friends" button, tab, option... it just takes me straight to a search dialog with no other options at all.
I was also not able to search for my gamertag. I THINK the only thing I was able to search for successfully is an old Origin account I had made. I cannot remember the password to that account, and when I had a password change email sent, it did not go to the email address that it was connected to.
I'm trying to get an xbox persona so I can use the Mass Effect Apex HQ App to work, and I've been at it for 3 days or so and have made zero progress.
The email I mentioned earlier is also the email my gamertag is connected to and I sent it a friends request, but I have to friend request pending from on that gamertag, which I'm not really sure is how it works anyway. This whole ordeal is very confusing.
Do I need to do anything with EA Access? Or is it just the origin client? Do I need to do anything on my xbox? I see that people have issues with security restrictions, but I haven't even gotten that far yet.
On the Apex HQ app, the only persona showing up is for PC, which I do not us.
There are way too many accounts in play here. My gamertag is so old, I don't use that email anymore, bu I haven't been able to change it as the primary email on my xbox live account, despite attaching it to a new outlook account. Between those and Origin / EA access and then the app, the entire situation is a huge mess.
In my googling for solutions, I'm finding that this is a super common problem.
Is there a way to request that if, since this issue has seemingly had a big resurgence, an actual solution that works is given, that I can be notified?
The app looks fantastic and something I would very much like to be able to use.That's all I want, the Apex thing, I'm signed in on the Xbox no problem, but the app insists I'm playing on pc (which I'm not). The only "help" on here just sends you round in circles! EA can do one, last time I buy anything from them.
