How old do you have to be to play Skate 3's online content?

At what age does EA let you play the online content of Skate 3?  I understand the age of registering on Microsoft cannot be changed and that's what EA looks at to determine age.  My step son is about...

I'm 13 and still can not access skate 3 online servers using Xbox 360 backwards compatibility
