New Patch on skate3? BC hint?

Went onto skate 3 just an hour or so ago, there was an update which I didn't even think to acknowledge it was for skate 3. until i realised it was no longer possible to 360 shuv/varial bounce glitch anymore on the download version. This entails there is a rhyme to reason for suddenly doing such a thing on such an old game. From what i suspect EA is starting to/has been polishing the game up for backwards compatibility,people with the download skate3 version and disc version will be able to play with eachother after this update now aswell. As far as I know this is the only difference i've seen visually, anyone notice anything different/patches? Thoughts?
