Re: ③ - I am too young to play - Error

  • If you're receiving an error restricting you from access to areas--or the entirety--of your any of your games due to any sort of "Underage Error," this is caused by a problem with the Date of Birth on your Xbox LIVE account, which was entered during registration.

Unfortunately, our team is unable to assist with errors of this nature as they originate with your Xbox and its configuration, rather than the game being played.

For more information on Xbox LIVE online safety and privacy settings and child account settings (set by Xbox for users under the age of 18), please go here.

Please know that changing the parental permissions and other settings does not guarantee access to the servers, as Xbox may still deny access based on the age on the account. For further assistance or information regarding this error, please contact Xbox Support.

Just fix the problem! I know that it isnt my xbox account because I changed my birth year to 1990 and it still doesn't work.

Are you seeing a different error message?

If so, what does it say exactly?

You can promote a child account to an adult account with you Xbox 360 but If you entered an incorrect date of birth when you created the account, this date cannot be changed and I think this is the cause. Source Microsoft XBOX 360 Website -

Completely frustrated by this problem. I am 43, XBox account is set to "Adult," yet I (nor my son who owns the game) can not play the game online. And, please don't pawn this problem off on Microsoft. If you cannot resolve this age problem, please provide information on getting a full refund. I did not purchase on "online" game only to be challenged by this type of problem.

just bought this game for my son and it does the same, spent time on the phone with wonderful Micrsoft because I am so fed up of the BS controls.  Tried to change his account to an adult account, but was told by them that you cannot change a birthyear and that I'd have to sign up a new account for him, but that he losses all of acheivments.  Microsoft sucks, so I thought I'd come here to the EA experts, but it looks like EA can't fix their own game problem?  I've always been a big supporter of EA, but a simple issue like this is going unaddressed.  EA, you're better than this, don't follow in Microsofts crappy customer service footsteps.

I would like to assist you with this issue but EA cannot change the settings of an XBOX Live account or a PSN account.

I have this problem with Battlefield 3 and will not be buying Titanfall as I'm sure that will be the same. Games from other companies (Halo etc) CAN be played online by people whose date of birth (according to their Xbox live account!) suggests that they are underage. So the problem is not entirely the fault of microsoft, although I'm sure they would love us all to create extra accounts and buy additional X-box live memberships to 'get round' this problem!

What a load of BS. I just got off the phone with Microsoft's XBox tech support and when through all the setting over the phone with them. I am 49 years old, it's what my microsoft live account says. I've also set my xbox profile to adult (as apposed to family) and I still get your bloody under aged dialog. Why not fix the problem instead of trying to blame someone else for shoddy workmanship, because that's what this is. Your user experience is garbage and I won't hesitate to rant and rave on social media about how horrible your software is. What a waste of money.

    Again load of BS

I've attached a screenshot of the birth-date I entered when creating the account.
    This is infuriating.

Ive done the same, If this is not gonna be fixed then im done with EA, I have had this problem for years. Fix your games EA instead of blaming it on "We Want Your Money Microsoft." fix your OWN game that you and Blackbox Created.

im never buying ea's products ever again... terrible customer service.
