Reporting that I tested it out and it is indeed buggy for me too!
In this picture, this is the part where the sim begins to panic as they start to float up.
However, as soon as the cutscene began, he just reset. Music played fine, his voice played fine, but he... He just stood there, and then used the telescope.
I tried again. Using the Summon Aliens aspiration benefit, I got him abducted again. The cutscene started normally, then suddenly he reset and the music and voice went mute.
And can confirm that the alien birth is bugged too. The baby was on the floor the whole time and the plumbob was in the sim.
