sims 2 will not install it just says blocked by administrator all the videos on line i've tried have failed to work.  Windows 10

  • @Sims8139 This is a common issue for some Sims 2 games released in 2008 and later. It is still possible to run the installer using the Command Prompt.

First, you will need to figure out which drive your game disk is in, e.g. D:E:, etc. Once you know that:

    1. Search for Command Prompt in the Start menu, right-click on it and Run as Administrator.
    2. It should say C:\WINDOWS\system32>
    3. Now you need to switch it to the drive your game disk is in, so if it is in drive D:, just type in D: and press Enter. If it is in drive E:, then type in E: and press Enter, etc.
    4. After it switches to the drive you want, type in AutoRun.exe and press Enter. The installer should run without the error.

EDIT, because I have no idea how I didn't remember this sooner. Just set the time back on your PC, preferably to the year the game/pack was released, and it should get rid of the error. You can change it back after the installation is done.

@Boo2444 There is an alternative method you could try; instead of going through Command Prompt, change the date on your PC to any date before 2020 and see if that lets you install the game.

@Boo2444 Right-click on the time/date in the bottom right corner of your screen, and select "Adjust date and time" (or something like that, my PC is not in English at the moment so I'm guessing). In the window that pops up, turn off the toggle that automatically sets time and date, and there should be an option to set it manually.

Just wondering what kind of computer you have because I have a dell laptop and if you have windows 11 because I do and it doesn’t work for my laptop but I have not tried to do that setting the clock but we have literally tried everything and I’m just afraid that if I do this it might ruin my laptop or something like that
