I'm going to say no it will not work for either one. I tried this years ago and the NL stove will not work as an object to hire employees if placed on a home lot. It will also mess up (or did at one time) the actual restaurants in the game. I can't exactly remember, but I would do as Jules suggested and put in a ticket machine and run a fake bakery (away from the house). Sims come in and eat the pie you serve, and watch a TV or whatever else you have there in an attached building etc. Same thing with a bar, you can hire a bartender but won't make any money, so add a ticket machine for time spent on the lot.
