It didn't bother me in the beginning. But the more I delved into the storytelling playstyle, the more I got annoyed by the autonomous part of the mild autonomous violence. It paints the sims as characters with very low self-control and many a sim of mine got into trouble with the law for attacking another in public. Don't get me wrong, I think the level and presentation of violence in Sims 2 is appropriate for a teen game. It just gets in the way in neighborhoods that are set up with realism in mind and sometimes with the characterisation.
