Bring sims 2 out of retirement they need more stuff just start making new content for them give them a facelift and open world and that will be all of a simulation game we will need.

Then simply play The Sims 3, it's like The Sims 2 but with open world, Create a Style and tons of Store items you can buy to expand your game. Maxis isn't gonna add nothing new to The Sims 2, obviosly.
