Are there any disadvantages or side effects of playing on a lot with 1 family, then moving them out and moving in a 2nd family to the same lot?
For example, has time of year passed? Will Humble come back with a new gift?

Basically, I want to depreciate the value of the lot and also purposely break some furniture to make it seem like a run down lot for renovation, using a random sim to do all this and then move him out.

Answers for questions. If you move a family out of the lot, all furniture and items get sold. So when the new family moves in the house will be empty. There are ways around this, first before moving the family out, you could make another throw away sim to move into the household. (merge them) then move out your family, leaving the throw away sim there so nothing gets deleted. Move the throw away out when you move in a new family. Note that this will allow the new family to move in free, because you would just be combining households again. The name on the lot won't match either. It will still be the first family's name on the lot.

Second way more to what you are looking for is to use a mod. Stay things shrub http://www.simlogical.com/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2_MiscHacks.htm you can set the shrub to keep all items on the lot when sims move out. So you can leave the house completely intact, and move in a new family that will pay for it, and their name will be on the household.

Whatever season you have set to be the first season while playing will be the season they are in. So if you move out in winter, but have the first season set to spring, the new family will move in, in the spring. If you wanted it to be the same season you can just change the seasons in neighborhood view, so whatever season you want to be in is put in first. Yes you will get a new computer from Humble.
