Sims 2 Headmaster Glitch

I cannot get the private school system to work. The headmaster arrives and stays frozen at my porch for the entire event and doesn’t leave until he is able to starve the next morning which I then promptly fail to get into private school. Has anyone tried this yet and had it work?
