    University
    Nightlife
Christmas Party Pack (also called Holiday Stuff Pack)
    Open for Business
    Family Fun Stuff
    Glamour Life Stuff
    Pets
Festive Holiday Stuff (also called Happy Holiday Stuff)
    Seasons
    Celebrations Stuff
    H&M Fashion Stuff
    Bon Voyage
    Teen Style Stuff
    Freetime
    Kitchen and Bath Stuff
    IKEA Stuff
    Apartment Life
    Mansion & Gardens Stuff

This is the order of installation- so pets will be the disc you use.

basically from what I understand the last ep you install is the disc you use. unless, it's the last one in the game- I use mansion and garden to load my sims.

I have all the expansions through celebration stuff - and the very last one Mansion and Gardens - Now Im trying to install the four inbetween but it is telling me it checks for updates then it terminates installing. So what is going wrong with this - what do I need to uninstall to install the next one over which is Fashion stuff - IVe researched till im tired of researching this answer and IVe seen some answers saying NO you do not have to install in order then I see this one and others that say you do have to install in order. Im confused and afraid to make any move on it because I dont want to completely mess up my game - I super duper need help with this

@GodInyou , Google may have links to the patches, but not the actual Expansion/Stuff packs. Those are no longer available for digital load for Windows OS. The only way to obtain any EPs or SPs you are missing is to buy them on CD/DVD from Amazon or Ebay.

What you need to do is install Sims 2 then manually patch Sims 2 base game from the Mod the Sims patches page.  THEN install University and then apply the University patch from MDS.  It will check each time to see if you are patched but it will immediately say you are up to date and then successfully complete.  Install each expansion in order and the proper patch for each expansion immediately thereafter.  Please note, there is only one stuff pack (Family Fun Stuff) that requires a patch.  This immediately precedes installing the Pets expansion which will be looking for this update when it’s finishing installing.  As long as you have it applied, Pets will pass and you can continue on.  For this reason, it is crucial that you apply the games in order as listed above.  The reason for this is to ensure you have each expansion/stuff pack’s patch properly installed FIRST.

I’m installing them all myself today and am having no trouble using the above method.  Prior to this, I couldn’t even get past University.  I did install the “don’t look for updates” patch someone listed after installing base game but I don’t think it’s necessary because as soon as you apply Sims 2 base game patch, it must overwrite it as it does look for updates (but you’ll already have them installed so it will see that and let you proceed).
