Aw sorry to cause you more work, and thank you for conforming with the new exterior colour guidelines @fatness1974 .
Here’s a link to tutorials for several types of roofing… the one for gambrel / barn roofing is towards the end. I’ve copied their steps below (my additions in brackets) but the link also includes pics:

Using Custard
Download the Custard file from this site, then double click on the file to extract the contents.
Find where you extracted Custard and double-click to enter the folder titled "Custard Cleaner for Sims3 Pack files". *
Open Custard by double-clicking on "Sims3PackCleaner.exe" .
A window will open. Click on "File", "Open" then navigate to your Exports folder** to select the file you want to check.
A window will open with the contents of your file. There you can see if anything is a concern. ***
In future, you just need to start with Step 2.
* Tip! You may wish to first move the extracted Custard folder where you can easily find it again. I have a folder where I keep all my Sims 3 info with everything neatly in sub-folders.
** Exported TS3 files can be typically be found in the Exports sub-folder, i.e. C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Exports.
*** This link explains about the types of unwanted content. If you just see lines showing your lot file and a bunch of thumbnails following your file is clean. If other stuff shows up, you’ll need to determine why.

- (Ensure auto roofs are off)
- Start with the walls of your barn, then go up a level and add another set of walls but make this set one space in along the sides.
- Using the half gable tool, place a roof along the thin outer edge of the second floor on both sides and a gable roof on the top section.
- Raise the roof pieces (using the 'Adjust Roof Height' slider) till the side pieces reach the top of the wall and lower the top piece. There should be a distinct difference in pitch between the top section and the sides.
- You may need to lower the side walls a little so they don't come up through the top section.
