On the ground floor, there's the gift shop (of course!) and the non-permanent exhibitions. On the first floor there's the permanent ones - life in Ackney-upon-Sherne through its history, and the collection of Egyptian relics left to the museum by an eccentric and well-travelled colonel. Outside, there's the award-winning recreation of an Elizabethan knot-garden, based on the records of the one William Dalrymple planted for his bride.
