I do NOT play either Isla Paradiso or Sunlit Tides because of the lag issues I've heard about in them
I haven't noticed lag in Sunlit Tides. The only really crazy part is the criminal hideout that will take forever to reach, so I just bull-doze that lot and I place a criminal lot I made right next door where the game will auto-spawn a lot, which I also bull-doze.
IP is laggy; but once fixed, it plays nicely. It's main problem is that one house boat was in motion when EA stopped work on it. Moving all the families to land and deleting or making most the house boat lots No Visitors Allowed will help tremendously. There are also a few tubs turned around or with toilets blocking access to them, some arches in front of door ways, steps and a platform in the central park, and a castle that will take forever to navigate as well as the new resorts, which want to spawn lots of workers. I fixed up everything I read about and put my own spin on things while trying to keep the original vibe of the lots. You'll find the files I uploaded from my save in a link in my siggie, if you are interested. There are two flavors available - one with store and other EP/SP content and one that is strictly IP stuff. (Once the files are placed in a folder in your saves folder, you can simply select that "save" to play.)
I've heard that ST has lag, although I've never played it so I don't know for sure. Another reason I don't play it is that I LIVE it; I live in SoCal, which is what EA based ST on.
I played IP once, and wasn't impressed. I got as many of the achievements as I'm interested in getting from that EP, and other than finishing the achievements that are specific to that world, I don't really intend to go back. I encountered some of the bad routing problems on the lot I was playing. I couldn't tell you the lot name, but it's the one with three female roommates. I think one of the problems with IP is that the world is far too hilly, with steep hills that Sims have to route around. But since the hills are not marked as unroutable, they try to route over the hills, and then get stuck. Error Trap and Overwatch will fix it, but they will be constantly resetting Sims, which gets annoying after a while. I had no idea about the houseboat, but that seems like EA was really stupid not to have thought of that. I might download your save and try it... but then again, unless I want the resort achievements (which is unlikely), I am not all that interested in that world. :) I thank you for offering that save as a download; I'm sure many people find it useful. :)
One reason I don't feel that my money was wasted on either is that I love the items that came with both worlds. The rabbit holes from both of them, for instance, look really interesting, and I've used them on empty custom worlds that I've played. Both of them come with hairstyles and clothing that I also like and use quite a bit. And, of course, there are always buffs and gameplay factors that came with IP, that aren't directly related to that particular world, that add flavor to every game. :)
