Johnny, a little info I found may ease your mind a bit as far as at least the Unicorns and wild horses go - They can teleport. So if you see them some place strange and you wonder about your routing - don't - apparently any place they want to go where they can't walk or run to, they can just teleport there. From what else I heard - apparently taming a wild horse causes it to lose the teleport ability, but not the Unicorn. The Unicorn can teleport with a rider even, but tamed horses cannot.
I do not know if any other wild creature can do that, as it was not mentioned.
I can definitely see this is going to drive some creators nuts looking for holes in their routing when there isn't any.
On a good side, Aunty Lynds is running a test world so we can see exactly what areas these creatures can appear in as she has different areas painted so we can see from overhead veiw areas restricted by paints and so far we've only seen these creature skirting the forbidden areas. The one incident where horse went into a non-routable area Aunty found she had actually missed one of the paints.
