Callum, as you may already know, I`m Scottish too, and it is with good fortune that I happen to live not too far from the edge of the highlands (about 40 kilometers from where I am now) and while I haven`t seen as much as I would like, I have visited a fair few places. I haven`t been to Fort William yet, so there you go. I`ve passed not twenty kilometers from it, but never actually visited the town, or seen Ben Nevis.
I go camping (not for the last year or so) fairly regularly, and visit the Angus Glens (Glen Clova and Prosen) a fair bit, seeing as they`re just over an hour`s drive away. It`s really beautiful up there. But, yeah, when you visit these places most of the time everything is cloaked in mist and there`s a lot of imagination having to be used, as half the time you can`t actually see the mountain tops or much else for that matter (Ben Nevis is notorious in that respect) :?
MichelleBrujah, thanks very much. I`m glad you liked Mariners Reach and the other ones
Okays, um, I`m pretty sure Great Bear will be an unpopulated world. I just like to start fresh when I play worlds, so I like to add my own sims rather than have the same families everytime I start a new game. That`s just my own preference.
You can rest easy though as there are a few 40x40 lots spread around Great Bear.
What I have tried to do with Great Bear is to add cribs to every single built house (including starter homes). I have gone about this by making every home able to accommodate at least three sims. In the case of the starter homes, there are always two bedrooms (one with a crib and a single bed and one with double bed). Of course, some of the larger houses can sleep more sims than just three. So, every household will be able to have children (even if, in the case of starters, just one or two children).
Regards homes with stables for horses to sleep, well, at present there is one ranch in Great Bear and it has a stable for three horses. I`ve added a few larger residential lots around Great Bear (you know, 64x64/60x60 and 50x50) for those who may want to create their own ranch style houses for horses. Making a ranch was, for me, quite difficult. I`m from Scotland and we really don`t have ranches here, so I had to google like crazy for images. When I finished it I thought to myself "I don`t really want to go through that again" :?
But if you really want to move into a house which is already prepared for horses, I guess the ranch would be your best option.
Don`t worry about your english, it`s really rather good. You made perfect sense. I see you have some Scottish blood in you too
I`m working away on Great Bear and I`m making real inroads now. This week I guess I can think about adding trees, although I have to find a nice texture for the mountain paths. I have an idea though, and it may just work...it`s making me nervous just thinking about it :?
Anyways, thanks again for your nice words and I promise it won`t be too long before I finally finish Great Bear
