Aww Johnnywr, no worries, we're good.
As someone who is relatively new to the Register mod (have used Story progression and others for ages but I've only used the Register for about a month), the paparrazzi will spawn very quickly so as soon as I place a sim in the world I immediately pause the game, go find the City Hall and click on it, and then click on Nrass > Register > Sims (I think it's under Sims) and click on Paparazzi true (which changes it to false). You can also remove paparazzi that have already spawned but I prefer to zap them before it gets to that point.
In addition to controlling the horses, cats, and dogs, I also use MasterController to turn off memories since they are useless and clog up the game. At least I think it's the masterController...it could be Overwatch. :P I admit it's getting more and more difficult to keep up with all the functions of all the mods, but to me it's worth it. Whatever the freedoms and individual choices that are taken away by EA, Twallan gives them back to us. Not to mention that he fixes a lot of the bugs!
