Bun, how did I make this world? Well, that`s a tough one. I always wanted a wilderness town kind of mountain world, so I went to work on it. The main thing was to create the mountain environment, so the sculpting was important, everything else fell into place after that. It wasn`t easy though and I thought I`d never be able to finish it. I`d forgotten just how much work can go into a large world.
It doesn`t matter if Great Bear is a similar concept to your own Castle Point, you should keep working away on it. Best of luck and hope to see Castle Point soon.
Shazzerly1, do you have all the expansion packs mentioned in the first page information post? That could be why Great Bear isn`t loading correctly. I`m sorry you are having problems. You need to have WA/AMB/LN/GEN and PETS installed for Great Bear to load properly.
XDragonFlyX, thanks very much. You are welcome. :-)
Rorsdors, much appreciated. Good to hear your sims are enjoying their visit to Great Bear.
Summersong, yeah, it`s strange sims are pitching a fit at the gym stairs. I`m also finding some oddities which sometimes occur and other times are fine. I noticed the pool ladder at Emerald Falls could not be placed when trying to move it one tile along. When I tried to place it back in it`s original position, it showed as red and could not be placed? I didn`t use MoveObjects in the first place, so I have no idea why this happened. As it turns out, I moved the large rock one space to the right (imagine you are looking at the pool deck with the waterfall behind you, it`s the large rock nearest the deck on the right), then positioned a fern to cover the now slightly exposed pool top after painting the exposed area with granite rock paint. I was then able to add the pool ladder without using MOO. So I kept it like that. I did use MOO to move the rock one space though.
Strange about those spiral staircases? That`s the thing about Sims 3, there`s just no continuity when it comes to stability. It`s a builder`s nightmare.
Nice to hear your sim has befriended a chipmunk. You know, I still haven`t seen deer in Great Bear though.
Good thing is, my sim band are getting gig after gig now. It`s great. So far, it`s mostly Devlins, Grizzly Joe`s and Big Dan`s Cabin, but at least the band`s gigs are moving from early afternoon slots to early evening slots :D
I`m using Twallan`s Story Progression (and Extra - the sim map tags are so, so useful. Thanks to Tangie for suggesting that one), Register and Overwatch. They make such a big difference to the game. I still occasionally get a couple of eight second freezes a day though.
I have paused the game and tried to find the cause, but to no avail. It`s not too bad though and doesn`t always happen every sim day. When I started my present `new` game in GB, I added four families and 19 single male and 20 single female sims from my library. My bars are still mostly empty though, but I can see glimpses of how things are developing, at least bar wise. A couple of sims here, three sims there...slowly but surely.
I`m mostly a happy bunny :D
