LittleMinx, thanks for the information regards Origin, and I`m sorry you have experienced problems saving and closing the game because of it. I stay clear of Origin if I can and only open Origin to update it when I hear an update is available. I`m also not particularly keen on digital downloads, I just don`t trust anything I can`t physically own.
But thanks for getting back to me on this, I appreciate it.
Korva, thanks so much for your nice words, much appreciated.
As regards your suggestions for Great Bear, well, to be honest, Great Bear looks the way it does as that is how I perceived it to look. I make worlds so I can play them, I just happen to share them afterwards.
I`ll try to address your suggestions as best I can, here goes.
1. I added a single bridge to Great Bear as I wanted there to be longer travel times (particularly to the more remote Buck Falls waterfall/lakes area). I felt this added a sense of "wilderness" and that those who choose to live there will have longer travel times into town, perhaps creating a sense of isolation.
2. The beach lot is really small as it is essentially a sandy riverbank rather than an actual beach (although it is called a beach in game). It is there predominately as a lot for sims to hang-out by the riverside while sims can choose to fish in the river. Besides, in that lot`s description I mention that the beach lot is prone to "flooding"; I imagine it would not the best place for a real estate upgrade :?
3. Yes, horses need a lot of space and the way EA implemented spawning wild horses is irritating to say the least. I created a newer version of Great Bear with some fences removed as horses were spawning in some ridiculous places. You say the one ranch I created could have some problems as well? Have you experienced any problems with horses on the ranch lot? I`m not really into the Pets side of the game, and didn`t really want to spend too much time building lots catering for horses/pets. I added them to placate the completionist in me, it`s not something I`m particularly interested in. I recently started using Twallans story progression and Register mods and limit the number of wild horses down to two. I find that helps reduce lag caused by trapped wild horses which may have spawned in some sims` mailbox or up a chimney somewhere
4. As I mentioned above, I`m not particularly keen on the Pets side of things in the Sims and compromised by adding a Dog Park and Cat Park (which I`ll admit my sims very rarely visit). I see it as something the player themselves can add to a residential lot if they so desire. Great Bear wasn`t designed as a "Pets World", I guess that`s just incidental to me. I was never going to make every house cat or dog friendly, but there are homes which are more suited to cat or dog additions...I guess that`s where the player adds their own personal touch to their idea of Great Bear.
Again, thank you for your kind praise, it is always appreciated :-)
