Continuation of Chapter 27:
That morning Bailey woke up to sticky, achy eyes and struggled a little bit to get them open. Once she did, she turned to see that her dad was out of bed and over by the closet buttoning his shirt. She then glanced at the clock on the end table and could see that he would be leaving for work soon. When Michael saw her looking at him out of the corner of his eye, he kept his focus on buttoning his shirt and said to her, "I thought you went home last night?"
Sitting up, Bailey answered, "I couldn't." Then she lowered her head, really trying hard not to cry again.
Michael began tucking his shirt in. "Your mother was just up here asking me what happened last night."
Bailey's head went up.
"I told her it would probably be best if she talked to you about it."
Closing her eyes Bailey thought, Please dad, don't make me do this again.
As Michael put on his white coat he said, while still not looking at her, "She's downstairs waiting for you," and he headed toward the door.
"Dad!" Bailey called out in a choked voice.
Michael stopped.
"I love you," she said. "I don't blame you for being upset, but," she paused for a second, "I just hope you'll trust that I know what I am doing and that it was never my intent to disappoint you."
Michael turned his head toward her, but still didn't meet her gaze. "I love you too Bailey," he said matter of factly, "I just need some time." Then he headed down the hallway towards the stairs.
Bailey let out a breath of relief. It wasn't quite the response she wanted, but it was heading in the right direction. She felt hopeful.
**************
After getting herself cleaned up a little bit, brushing her hair and borrowing her step mother's makeup, she headed downstairs to find Jenni. She was in the kitchen feeding Shawn breakfast.
"Good morning Bailey," Jenni greeted her with a smile when she saw her come in.
Bailey tried to smile in return but it was hard.
"Are you feeling better?" Jenni asked her.
"Not really," Bailey replied honestly. "I need to talk to you." Here it goes again...
When she told Jenni she had been seeing Goodwin for a while and they were dating, Jenni was quite shocked. So much so she couldn't get any words out. It was one of those awkward silences that Bailey h-a-t-e-d. The feeling of awkwardness was so bad in fact that Shawn, who had been thoroughly enjoying his meal, stopped and stared at his Grandmother.
"Are you okay?" Bailey hesitated to ask.
Jenni had been supporting herself on the counter and Bailey prayed she wouldn't faint. "I don't know," came Jenni's reply.
The awkward silence continued.
"How?" Jenni began, but then asked, "Why?"
Bailey gave her all the same details she gave Michael. Jenni, too, also had a hard time believing that Goodwin had changed, but she wasn't as upset about the situation as Michael was. She tried to warn Bailey that Goodwin could be deceiving her, perhaps as a way to harass her and Sue.
Bailey didn't want to hear it. "Look," she said, "I don't need to try and convince you the way I tried with dad. I am tired of it!" Now she snapped. "If you guys don't want to be supportive of me then you can just forget about seeing me for a while!"

And with that she spun on her heel and headed for the front door. As she grabbed the handle, she noticed out of the corner of her eye Sue standing by the archway staring at her. Slowly, Bailey turned her head toward her. Sue's expression looked blank.
"Sue," Bailey said, coming toward her.
Sue's eyes lowered.
"You heard all that didn't you?" Bailey asked her.
Sue nodded, then looked her in the eye again.
This moment pained Bailey more than talking to her Dad and Mom about it. "I'm so sorry," she said to Sue, with tears welling up, "I don't know what else to say."
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag50/emorrill19/Sims%203%20Single%20Dad%20Challenge/Im%20sorry%20Sue_zpscnoilalv.jpg
"Don't be sorry," Sue said.
That took Bailey aback.
"I don't even remember the guy," Sue said, "your dad has always been there for me since I was three. He is the father I've always known. My biological father is nothing to me."
Bailey frowned.
"Your dad is mine too and he always will be."
Nodding Bailey said, "I understand."
"So if you want to be with him," Sue continued, "just make sure he knows that he is not my father and I don't want him trying to be."
Sadly, Bailey said, "I will." There was silence between the two for a few seconds and then she said, "I'm sorry to make things awkward for you."
Sue just lightly shrugged it off. "I'll just look at him as your boyfriend...nothing more."
As Bailey walked down the front steps, she looked up to see a dark cloud covering the sky around the neighborhood. How fitting, she thought, but then her eyes were drawn toward her Mother's grave. She slowly stepped over to it and while looking down upon the headstone the tears came flooding out. With her face buried in her hands she sobbed, "Oh Mother...I need you so much right now! Help me! I don't want to lose everyone!"

Two weeks went by and Bailey didn't hear a word from her parents, nor did she go out of her way to see them. Her dad expressed that he needed time and all she could do was hope that they'd contact her when the time was right for them. In the meantime, she continued to live her life working and spending time with Goodwin. She did ask him why he hadn't made things right with Jenni and Sue.
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag50/emorrill19/Sims%203%20Single%20Dad%20Challenge/Im%20concerned_zpsiyw13ajy.jpg
His response was, "They had moved on Bailey and looked so happy. I didn't want to come on the scene and reopen old wounds you know? Sue has never really known me and your dad was that father figure to her that I unfortunately didn't want to be. He's treated her and Jenni better than I ever could have. Sure I had mixed feelings about him to begin with but...through time I came to realize that he was the best thing that ever happened to them and for that, I am thankful."
Bailey smiled. "Well, my dad is pretty awesome."
Goodwin nodded in agreement, but lowered his head.
Sensing his emotions, Bailey placed her hands on his shoulders and said, "You can be like that too. You've already come so far and there is no doubt in my mind that if you have a child again, you'll be an amazing dad!"
Goodwin looked up at her with a smile and kissed her.
***************
More time went by and Bailey decided to restyle her hair, since Goodwin expressed how he would love to see it down and flowing. Honestly, the new look made Bailey feel younger and more beautiful. Goodwin certainly couldn't keep his eyes and hands off her.

One day, a very unexpected visitor showed up at her home. She looked out the window to see that someone was looking at her cow plant and it was Shark. In frustration she stomped outside, approached him, asked him what he was doing there and that no she didn't want to talk and slapped him.

Never once did Shark say sorry for what he did to her and it seemed like he never would. All he ever wanted to do was "talk" and judging by the tone in his voice, he wasn't going to apologize and probably planned to try and get her forget the whole thing.
"I'm DONE with you contacting me!" Bailey shouted at him, "you are ignoring the restraining order and I'm going inside right now to call the police!" Off she stormed towards the front door.
"Come on baby don't do that," Shark said.
"I AM NOT YOUR BABY!"
The door slammed.
Sensing its owner's irritation, the hungry cow plant held out a cake toward Shark with it's tongue.
"Huh? What's this?" Shark asked the cow plant.

"You are such a nice cow plant to give me cake! You must like me huh?" So he reached for the cake and grabbed it.
As Shark bit into the succulent cake, the cow plant raised it's long neck over him, opened it's large mouth wide and chomped Shark swallowing him whole. He went down hard, but he was delicious and filling.

When the police arrived on the scene, Shark was gone and Bailey kicked the deck post in anger. Until the cow plant threw up a bunch of bones and...they sure weren't bones from an animal. Everyone was shocked, even Bailey, but she felt a great sense of relief and hey, that's why she got the cow plant in the first place! Some DNA testing was done on the bones and sure enough, it was Shark Racket's remains. His bones were laid to rest in the graveyard next to his great grandfather and grandmother's graves.

No longer having to worry about Shark was a huge relief for Bailey and unbeknownst to her...her family. However she figured they would be happy as well. Everyday she prayed her parents would contact her soon and accept Goodwin. Deep down she really believed they would and never lost faith in that.
After feeling sick for a few days, the greatest thing that brightened Bailey's day and mood, besides the flowers Goodwin gave her, was a text from her dad saying, "Hey. Do you want to go out to dinner tomorrow night?"
Ecstatically she replied, "Yes!"
"I'll pick you up at seven."
"Sounds good dad. I've missed you..."
"I've missed you too."
Bailey squealed for joy and nearly kissed her phone. She had to take a moment to pray to God and thank him. After she was done, her stomach churned again and she ran for the toilet.
