Hey everyone! Ok...whew...I've done so much playing and picture taking that I think I am ready to start writing more! I hope you all will love it! :)
I just have to say that I try really hard not to have any continuity errors in my stories... so if you happen to notice any, sorry. Anyhoo, back to the Holland Family adventures!
Chapter 33
Back at the University, a new semester started once again. Daniel and Andrea's new relationship was spreading all throughout campus. Most people were in SHOCK to find one of the smartest girls in school, who always seemed to make it VERY CLEAR she wasn't interested in having a boyfriend, was actually courting a man! The new couple felt like the happiest people alive and enjoyed each others company more than they ever thought possible. Andrea loved how Daniel could turn a very stressful day into a blissful one, simply by surprising her with flowers or chocolates, taking her out to a nice restaurant or just...BEING there for her and listening. She still managed to keep up with her studies, but if she wasn't in class, she was always with Daniel at his dorm. Heck, it felt like she was LIVING with him, but they never slept together. Andrea was saving that part of herself for when she gets married. When Andrea told her family about Daniel (he even got to meet them over Spring Break), they treated him as if he was already part of the family. Even though he and Andrea didn't have ALL the same interests, his strengths were her weaknesses and vice versa. They complimented each other. Her family could definitely see that.
It wasn't long after Spring Break, that Daniel took Andrea up to the mountains and they had a picnic overlooking the whole University campus and city. The view was breathtaking and after they finished eating, they cuddled next to each other and continued basking in the scenery.
"Gosh, it's so relaxing up here!" Andrea said, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath.
Daniel looked on her with a smile, agreeing. "Yeah," he whispered.
Andrea then popped one eye open, to look at Daniel, and sat up a little straighter. "You know," she said to him. "This is quite the romantic setting and I've noticed that you haven't taken your eyes off me like...this WHOLE time!" They both chuckled. "Is there something on your mind?"
Continuing to stare deeply into her eyes, Daniel replied, "Maybe."
Grinning, Andrea rubbed noses with him. "Oh really?"
Daniel kissed her lips lightly and then did it again...and again. Andrea was expecting another one of their long make out sessions, but she sure as heck wasn't expecting what happened next.
"Marry me?" Daniel whispered to her.
Andrea's mouth dropped as she pulled away. Looking at him in surprise she asked, "What did you say?"
"Marry me."
Andrea held her hand to her pounding heart. Was he actually...proposing? 'Where's the ring?' she thought, but was taken out of her thoughts when Daniel took her hand.
"Andrea," he began, "I know this is all so sudden but...please...hear me out."
Gulping, Andrea nodded.
"I love you Andrea Holland. These past ten months have been the happiest of my entire life! I never realized just how perfect two people could be for each other. You're smart and you're beautiful and...there are so many times that I feel like a guy like me doesn't deserve to be with a girl like you."
Blushing, Andrea smiled.
"But I know...God works in mysterious ways. You COMPLETE me Andrea! Us being together...it feels so RIGHT! And when I met your family and we immediately clicked, it felt even MORE right to be with you!"
"Oh Daniel," Andrea said, trying not to get emotional.
Daniel kept on going. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you," then he paused for a moment, while rubbing her hands. "I know there will be hard times ahead, especially with your schooling and career, but we've already proven that we can get through all that together. I mean, shoot, we're always together I feel like we're a married couple already!"
Andrea chuckled with a nod. "Yeah...it sure does feel that way."
Daniel inched in closer and said, "Then why don't we make it official?"
Andrea's heart was now fluttering.
"I'm sorry I don't have a ring," he said, "I'm a little broke and--"
"YOU'RE broke!?" Andrea shot back jokingly.
"Ok!" Daniel said holding his hand up, "You got me beat on that one, but seriously...I'd rather have you pick out a ring that you really like instead of me buying you one that you don't."
'True,' Andrea thought. "I'm sure I would love whatever you got me," she said giving him a light kiss. The kissing continued for about a minute. Then Daniel let his lips go from hers and they touched noses. "So, will you marry me?" he asked again.
Grinning brightly Andrea replied, "YES!" She jumped onto him, causing him to fall on the ground and they began to kiss passionately. This had been the happiest day of both their lives so far. <3
Andrea was so giddy when Daniel dropped her off back at her house that she jumped for joy higher than she ever remembered jumping before.

"I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!"
With her feet landing firmly on the ground and letting that sink in a little, Andrea thought in a more serious tone, 'Oh my gosh...I'm getting married. ME! Getting married?' She expected her inner self to freak out, but shockingly...she didn't. She felt peace washing over her. The kind of warm feeling that only came from ONE source. God. She couldn't deny that this decision she just made was the right one.
***************
Andrea called her family the next day to tell them the big news. They were all very excited for her and she was even more impressed with Daniel when her dad told her he called and asked for his permission to marry her. Her sisters Bailey and Molly asked what seemed like a million questions on what her plans were for the wedding. "Actually," Andrea told them, "I don't really want a big wedding."
"WHAT!?"
"I mean, neither of us have the money for that. Plus, I'm perfectly happy getting married at City Hall with just my close family and friends watching."
The girls were speechless for a few seconds, until Bailey said, "Alrighty, but we have to find you a killer dress!" Then seeing the look Molly shot at her she added, "A cheap one!"
Andrea smiled on the other end. "Thanks. I love you guys."
"We just still can't believe you are getting married!" Molly said.
"I know!"
***************
A few weeks later, Andrea got the occasional, random call from the jock Stephen Brackney.
"Hello Stephen," she greeted nonchalantly once she answered the phone.
"Hey Brainiac!"
Andrea rolled her eyes with a half cocked smile. "Do you even remember my actual name?"
"Of course!"
"Oh really?"
"Yes, really! Anyway, me and a few of my friends are going bar hopping tonight. Wanna come?"
Andrea wrinkled her nose thinking, 'Is he...actually inviting ME to come hang out with him and his friends!? Since WHEN!?' She certainly didn't drink anymore. "I'm sorry," she said, picking at her nail. "I really need to study tonight."

There was a pause on the other end. "Ok," Stephen said, almost sounding disappointed to Andrea. "I figured you'd say that."
"Well, Stephen, such is my life right now. I should really let you--"
"Andrea wait!" Stephen interrupted.
Happy that he still remembered her name, but surprised at the sudden outburst she asked, "What?"
"Speaking of your life," he began, followed by another pause, "is it true that you're getting married?"
"Yes," Andrea answered, wondering why he was curious. "I am."
"To your...boyfriend right? Daniel, was it?"
"Yes."
"Really?"
"YES Stephen!"
"Sorry," he said, hearing the annoyed tone in her voice. "I just...thought that a girl with your dreams and ambition...wouldn't have time for or...even WANT marriage."
Andrea placed her hand on her hip. "You're right," she sighed, "that's the kind of girl I've always been. But...I fell in love and I realized...I can't get through the pressure and stress of achieving my dreams without someone there to share it with. To help me through it all." She couldn't believe she was sharing something so personal with Stephen. They were casual friends...not very close.
"Wow," Stephen said. Then he cleared his throat. "Well I'm...happy for you. I'm glad...you found someone to love."
Andrea smiled. She knew he really meant that. "Thanks Stephen."
"See you around...Andrea."

It was toward the end of the school year when Daniel proposed again with the ring Andrea had picked out a month ago. They set the date and when that time came they were married at the City Hall close to the University in the company of their immediate families. Daniel's father and sister didn't show up...it was just his Mom and younger brother. They apologized for the other two not being there and Daniel seemed disappointed from what Andrea could sense, but she shrugged it off. She honestly expected this to happen. Their family has been having problems for years. She couldn't remember if Daniel mentioned his parents being separated or if they finally got divorced. Either way, she didn't want to focus on that right now. This was her wedding day! She was now Mrs. Daniel Vaughn and giggled a little at the thought of it. 'Doctor Vaughn,' she thought to herself, 'it has a nice ring to it. Plus, there would be no confusion if I ended up working side by side with my dad in the future!' That was always, sort of, her dream.
That night was certainly a memorable one for Andrea. Finally, she could make love to the man of her dreams! It was intense...the two had been holding back these raw emotions for what seemed like an ETERNITY, but...it's what made the wedding night exactly what it's supposed to be...Magical. Memorable. <3
