Thanks, I've got a bad cold just kicking in today but it's only a cold. :D
The roads are placed directly on the land- if you edit the land under the road you do effect the road. :)
There is a road tool which can help smooth the roads if you need it but be careful.
What problem did you have with matching the road to the bridge? :)
