LN Apartment Shell Trick

I am not entirely sure this is the right forum but anyhow... I am here to share a building trick i just discovered. I am redesigning Aurora Skies and using the apartment shells from LN. For God-knows-what reasons some shells were missing their tops in build/buy mode and when I draw a closer distance to observe them. They appeared normal in distance. I have searched the web and found no solution. Although I did find at least one similar incidence so it's not just my game.

It was driving me nuts so I spent the night trying to work around it. At first I tried to save the pre-made lots from Bridgeport then place them on AS. But the lots were too big to fit in. I had to place those shells directly. Then I started to do random things like placing the shells in Bridgeport but still got the same result, until I decided to build a foundation then place the shell on top of it. What do ya know it go****mn worked! So here is the procedure to get a shell with top:

1. Build a foundation on an empty lot to cover enough ground so that you can place the shell on it.
2. Place the shell on the foundation.
3. Undo the whole thing, then place the shell on the ground.
4. Done!

Here is a picture illustrating the result:

As you can see the one on the left is without the top of the shell, while the one on the right appears normal. I am wondering if anyone can explain this but I am satisfied enough about the result. :s :D
