Envie - it's not the world, or the sim, or you - but an EA goof up. They did something in the last patch that for no good reason anyone can see makes it nearly impossible to get their mood out of the red. Every now and then when one turns static like that I can use the resetSim on them and fix it for a few days, other times it just won't fix. Go to the tech boards and you will see how many simmers are getting this problem more and more often. My male tester has gone viral like that while he is at work and every one of his bars are maxeed out green - he has no bad mood indicators in his panel - nothing. I noticed he first turned like that right after he turned a 3rd star celebrity (which makes no sense for a science guy) and suddenly there was a pop up about some bad rumor about him. Which put him in a bad mood supposedly for 3 days. When that went away, it'd come back because he did not go around town and explain himself to every single sims on the Moon. And eventually that bad mood indicator is gone, but he is like perma in the red and not a thing I can do about it, as reset stopped making him better. So I have him slowly going around telling who ever he can the rumor was a lie, as I am told that will eventually fix it. But who knows. It was silly to do this plus the babies and toddlers are also nearly impossible to keep happy and not lonely as well now with what ever EA did.
It is a mega bug, which I did not get until just recently, others have reported it though since the day after the last patch.
Rflong - I believe the solar stuff in CAW is a bit different than the ones in buy because the ones in buy - both the wind mill and the solar panels reduces the Sims bills the more they add to their lot. If the sim has the eco-trait and also have these two eco devices as well as the recycle bins they get a noticeable deduction in the bills. It will tell you when you put the wind mills on the lot and a solar panel on the roof how much of a deduction your sims will get. This is on the good side - on the bad side and what EA does not tell you is too many of these solar panels or windmills and you can get a freezing laggy lot. The world items are just statues and will not create a problem any more than any decoative item will from my understanding - but the buyables will create a problem if you apparently use too many. I wish I knew what the magic number is but I have no clue. I did have 3 windmills in my farmers fields and 3 solar panels on the roof of his house (as the solar panels are recommended to be put on the roof - again why I don't know as no one has stated that - but anyway with that number on a 40 x 40 lot I had no freezing or lag at all, and my sims bills were cut drastically, so they are worth it if the sims have a big farm and live off their land.
I have observed the Sims come out of the stadium and do that just as Envie said, which does not bother me at all and does not seem to create a big to do about it. On that same level I have similar incident in several of EA's worlds where the sims complain when they can't get near one of the statues because it was placed on a foundation with a fence around it and in another case is an EA placed fountain that they surrounded with plants and bushes. Probably if they were not blocked they would not even care to go look at at the darn things. I have gotten immune to that kind of silliness from the Sims as they find at least one thing in every town to carry on about. As long as they don't get stuck, I just ignor it and apparently so does EA as they must be aware the sims are going to do this when they cannot reach every single thing they feel like reaching or obsess over.
