Well I've been testing since I said "Got it" - a good 7 hours anyway - I just assumed the Porter thing was the porting thingy - and it didn't affect a thing. Also my sims were immediately in their houses, so I don't have any idea why SS86's were not unless it has something to do with the weirdness she's been mentioning about her pc. But The minute I clicked on choose a household which did come up right away, all the sims were there. I checked each family out and of course settled on the Writins as you guys know what kind of rabbits they can become if left unattended. As it was I left them just a few days to visit the other sims and I come back in time to see Reggie coming out of the hospital with a little pink bundle.
Speaking of the hospital, Rflong go below ground and look in the doors to the area where the lobby desk is, the wall from above is showing - but it does not cause any problem, it just blew my mind until I figured out it was just another EA drop below ground stupid thing - so doh! Now we have to worry about Walls on top of trees, bushes, and fountains. EA really needs to play their own game or something. It's not a problem apparently for the rabbitholes but that can be a very bad thing if it's a dungeon or tomb somebody has built or if they don't build a big enough building above they are liable to block the door. But so far not anyone is having a beef about any of the buildings. OH and that subway, well I forgot about it to start with and then I remembered and went into edit town to fix it, only it looked fine. You did say the Nectary right? Anyway, I thought I was remembering wrong and ended up checking all the subways and all are fine. So apparently do things not only sink, they must move back up. Just weird.
But freezing and lagging was a total ZERO - there is none anywhere and I've been everywhere.
The game added 6 families with a total of 21 sims with in the first 2 hours - I did not recount after visiting every place, but I am sure a few more got added as bouncers and bartenders in a couple clubs showed up after I had visited and after I had counted. By the way love your metal yard. Apparently I had not gone there with the other rendition but nice place - I can see homeless sims wanting to actually live there. The excavation spot was a nice touch also outside the fence.
All the fish and fruits and ground bugs spawned apparently right away, as I sent my sims to the science center first and then to the experimental food park, and there were alread one of your alien men there (the green guy) with Don Lothario having lunch at a picnic table. So the picnic baskets also showed right up. No fireflies or pigeons yet, just the fog where they will eventually be. I also saw the bluish/green fellow over in the bushes fishing and that was mere minutes after I got in my sims house. There was a stag beetle, lady bugs, and another kind of beetle scurrying around. No butterflies yet, but I don't recall if you had some in there or not. There was butterflies in the Founders park I think that was.
Okay for the other small weird thing that didn't really cause a problem was Don and the Green Sim got up from the picnic table rather quickly, sort of a pop up and away from the table and just continued talking as if it was nothing at all. I haven't figured out if it is just the table or the sims, but I never saw either of them out and about except at the movie theater where one was going in when one was coming out. I also saw Don sitting on a bench another day in a park reading, and when your blue haired Long sim showed up and started playing the drums in the park he stood up normally and started listening to the music. So it might be one of the picnic basket loaded picnic tables in the science park, I will need to play their houses later and make sure it is not the sims. My sim did grab food from the basket and sat at the other table and didn't do any popping away from that table. So it could just be the one table or those two sims.
I plan to go back in shortly, but figured I would come here and see if anyone else had came across anything.
