San Marina is Finished and Available for Download

San Marina, a Sims 3 world I've been working on for a very long time, has been released. Download is here: Download is here: https://www.thesimsdepot.com/sims-3/downloads/worlds/san-marina/

I've attached a README.txt file below so you can get more details about the world:

If you're interested, I strongly recommend running it on a machine that can handle large worlds like Boroughsburg and Los Aniegos. San Marina is huge, with 212 lots and 200 residents. The optimal settings are AMD Ryzen 5 6400 + AMD Radeon RX 6400 + SSD + 8GB. However, I was able to also get this to run on an older machine with AMD Athlon II X4 +Nvidia 1030 GT + 8GB + HDD and with all EPs installed.

Some pictures:

  • Wow, that's some world! Do you have more pictures on a blog anywhere? I love to look at other folks' worlds.  It sounds like it is made for someone that just wants to put their Sim into the world and not have to worry about building anything.

How many community lots do you have and are they included in the 200 lots? How many empty lots are there?

What is the reason for deleting the DCBackup files?

Hello! Sorry that I didn't respond earlier. It's just that I can't get used to these forums and it seems that I'm not getting notifications.

There are a handful of empty lots (around 6), but there are tons of placeholder duplicate rabbithole lots that people can bulldoze without worrying about sims losing their jobs. I added duplicates (instead of having empty lots) because someone complained that my last world, Pottersville, seemed "empty." So, many of the community lots are duplicates, with the additional lots meant to be bulldozed.

I don't remember how many community lots there are but it's probably around 60 out of the 200. However, most of those are the RH duplicates as previously, as well as plazas and subway stops/food truck stops tagged as No Visitors.  "Active" community lots (like clubs, dive bars, hangouts, showtime stages, etc.) are more like 20.

I have pictures at my Simblr and Blogspot blog. I also have this preview video on YouTube.

I started deleting the DCBackup files when I noticed issues with skies not loading properly and some other quirks, so I tell people as a precaution to just delete these files. Here is an age old discussion about these files at Carl and Pam's Community. I know it's super old, but I did find that issues with San Marina cleared up whenever I deleted these files (except cc.merged).
