Preface: I hope this isn't too much of a necro. If it is, please let me know.
This was three computers ago, and I'm so sorry, but I've unfortunately lost what screenshots I had when that particular computer died five years ago. This was circa-2012 when I first got into Sims 3, with the bare minimum for specs. My Sims 3 game wasn't even patched: basically it was the base game's base game that I played.
So anyway, this was when I exclusively played the pre-made families, and I had a thing for the Altos; Nick didn't interest me, Holly was alright, but Vita was - you know when you admire a villain, simply because they're a villain? - who I'd primarily play when I (often) played the Altos.
But this particular game, I decided to see if I could make good with the Landgraabs; with Geoffrey it was easy because he didn't have the Good trait and had a bunch of positive traits... but Nancy was more difficult because I find two Snobs don't get along too great, and the compliments are... forced. Also, it was really hard because when you're Enemies with someone, they get bored easily. I found this to be less challenging when I got the Never Dull lifetime reward, and Vita racked up more friends as her Charisma skill levelled.
Proposing truces with the Landgraabs was quite fulfilling. I honestly didn't even want to bother making Nick do the same, because - being Mean Spirited and all that - I felt like it would waste my time on someone I didn't have much of an interest in.
Meanwhile, Holly literally takes the most divergent path from both her parents: she takes up Painting and Guitar, and in fact plays the guitar for tips in the park to earn money that way. I don't like having to deal with deaths and procreation, to be honest, so I turned off ageing. I used a birthday cake to age Holly up to a young adult, and I... honestly dressed her up in a very rustic manner: crown braids, long skirt, long sleeves with a tank over the top, in shades of straw and and cream. She was honestly much prettier that way, I feel like the long hair didn't really suit her, and I wanted to have her set out her own destiny, because even though I did admire Vita, she was a villain at the end of the day; all those times she's wished to see the ghost of someone, though.
Speaking of Vita, I decided to make her become even more of a villain by cheating on her husband, Nick... with Cycl0n3 Sw0rd: I had to look up his name, because I couldn't remember the exact spelling off the top of my head.
Anyway, she ventures into the Roomies Household when she's got free time, and she spends all her time there flirting with Cycl0n3... and Blair Wainwright doesn't like it. Every time she sees Vita doing that, the relationship with her takes a hit. Anyway, Cycl0n3 and Vita become Romantic Interests, and they try for a baby. After trying all night when she's spending one of her last few nights at Roomies - because I didn't hear the lullaby riff - Vita becomes nauseous mid-WooHoo, and only then do I realise that she's pregnant with Cycl0n3's child.
So she goes back home - do bear in mind that this is Patch 0 we're talking about, therefore no EPs, and long before the patch for Generations was released - and Nick is none the wiser: he thinks that the daughter* his wife is carrying is his, and I take a lot of pride in how he asks to feel and speak to Vita's belly... which she obliges, of course!
*thank you, grocery store watermelon!
Anyway, because Vita is on maternity leave, she hangs out at the park throughout her pregnancy, but doesn't interact with Cycl0n3 in public, because I'm a bit paranoid even without the Reputation patch. In fact, she even gives birth in the park.
Funnily enough, Nick is still none the wiser, and doesn't even autonomously accuse her of cheating.
Then one day, I had Vita invite Cycl0n3 over to her place to continue the affair while Nick was at work, their daughter Lillie is in the crib... but I forgot Holly was at home. Anyway, I forget that you can't lock doors in Patch 0... so Holly walks in on them mid-WooHoo!
Uh oh spaghettios.
The relationships Cycl0n3 has with Nick, Holly, and even baby Lillie all plummet to Disliked. Same with Vita, except with Nick... who is furious the moment he arrives home, and they argue. I was a newbie at the time, and didn't wait for the Betrayed or Witnessed Betrayal moodlets to fade before trying to make amends, and Nick ends up breaking up with Vita when he got the wish to do so. Vita is very upset, Holly witnesses the Heartwrenching Scene and has a massive hit to her own mood... while I then had to repair relations with everyone in the household.
Lillie is the easiest, because she's a baby, and there's nothing you can do to a baby that will make them bored; Cycl0n3 and Vita both repair the relationship with their daughter before doing so with anyone else. Holly is next, but she's Good compared to Vita's Evil, so it's a bit of a challenge at first for Vita, but with Cycl0n3 it wasn't as hard to repair things with his wife's daughter from her former marriage.
Now it's time to fix things with Nick. He's Mean-Spirited and Vita's ex-husband, but I realised I needed to wait a while for everyone involved to cool their jets. It takes time and patience, but Vita's Evil trait seemed to have helped her a bit in repairing things with Nick. I eventually managed to get them on good enough terms to ask him just to be friends. Cycl0ne also pitches in, and it's easier because he's not Nick's ex.
Anyway, back to Cycl0n3... Vita decides she doesn't want to get married again, but loves Cycl0n3, and they go steady as boyfriend and girlfriend, and he agrees to move in with her, so everyone lives happily in the same house, with more than enough room for everyone because it's big!
As for Lillie? Well, she inherited her father's iridescent red hair and massive, flat nose... she was not a very pretty teenager, and that killed the appeal of that particular saved game.
It ended on an even more troublesome note, where she flirted with an autonomously visiting Gunther Goth while Holly was at the park playing guitar for tips, Nick was at work, Cycl0n3 too, and Lillie was at school.
Instant romantic interests.
