I Resolved the Monte Vista Woodfire Oven Issue

Yes, deleting the ccmerged.package is exactly why you had problems with your wood fire oven. All other package files in the DCBackup are not necessary for CC/Store content to function properly. Luckily it's really easy to restore, as you've learned :) Once you've fixed the ccmerged.package, it shouldn't have any more problems again, but if you do, then it's really easy to make a new one or just use somebody else's.
