@TroyTalks I think it was probably me who brought up the subject of mass burials and bombs. I meant it in relation to a propaganda film I saw as a teenager which was deliberately designed to alarm and shock. I don't believe anyone here would want to see either as part of a base game upgrade of TS3 or indeed as part of a new disasters EP. Some things are far too close to reality, cease to be entertainment and would probably break the PEGI rating.
Having played a lot with Supernatural there are already consequences of a zombie attack. I spend a lot of my sims' time on moonlit nights curing zombies and keeping the little blighters out of the gardens. I appreciate some players want scarier zombies, with perhaps mass attacks. Personally I don't so whatever upgrade is made to the zombie there must be options to exclude them from the game completely or reduce precisely how much damage to our sims and their property they can do.
@Nikkei_Simmer first of all thanks for your list. After 9 years I would love to see some new, more open careers. The idea of running a nuclear plant (not a la Mr Burns or Homer) has gripped my imagination. I also like the idea of being able to evacuate the populous should there ever be a disaster :D
As @puzzlezaddict said natural disasters have been part of the sims franchise for a long time. The question as you say is how much so that EA can retain the current PEGI rating. I like the idea of adding new features to the Seasons EP although I think there should be options to switch certain of these features off. I doubt if Texan players would want anything that reminded them of recent floods for example. Personally I wouldn't mind having certain objects flying by the window (cows maybe?) as long as my sims are safely tucked up indoors. I take your point about photoshopping to get the story you want out of the crisis.
