I really don't play the pet aspect of the game, it just doesn't appeal to me. I do want get the pet related gnomes though. Does anyone know if I put a salt lick on my lot for wild horse would I get the associated gnome?
I will try to remember to try this next time I load my game but it may take a few plays for to remember what that nagging thing I wanted to try is :D
I am a bit the same but I really wanted some of those gnomes in my game without cheating.
I made a dog and gave it independant and friendly traits. I forget the other one. I wanted a dog I wasn't going to have to keep petting to stop the social worker taking it.
I also made a sim with animal lover trait. This sim autonomously took care of the dog.
I then made the dog bark at the fridge for days before I got my first freezer bunny gnome.
Then in subsequent game freezer bunnies just turn up if I have that dog with his favourite sim. They are BFF in some games. I haven't got any other animal gnomes yet though.
FishkickingGiraffe: I don't know if that will work, but it is certainly worth a try!
Karritz: One thing I have learned from playing with pets (I always have horses) is that one pet is a lot of work, while two is less because they can keep each other's social motives up. I train my pets early on to interact with each other, so they will do it on their own.
