Showtime: Do Simfests use service sims or career sims?

I'm really confused because the Simfests in my town are completely empty stages with people cheering autonomously. I'm not sure what's lacking.

Are the magicians/singers/acrobats from the service pool (that you hire on the phone to perform at your house) the ones that are SUPPOSED to perform at these Simfests?

Or are they the housed sims that live in your town that actually WORK in the magician/singer/acrobat careers that SHOULD GO to the Simfest?

Which ones are supposed to perform?

    Anyone familiar with Nraas and can help? Do I need to use Register to increase the number of service performers or do I need to make residents in the town have showtime careers? Thanks!

    I don't know about sims from the service pool but sims that live in your town and work in performance careers can perform at simfests.

    Recently my sim went to a venue where a simfest was happening. When she arrived, a magician who lives in town was performing. After the magician finished, the next performer was announced. No sim went on stage but my sim continued to clap and cheer as if there was.

    Hmmm, so I guess I need to figure how to get Nraas to assign residents to have more of the Showtime Careers since I have zero people showing up
