- You try to save a household to the library and it will not save, one of your Sims is corrupted, or that is a sure fire way I can tell in my game.
- There could be allot of different signs. One could be your game won't load. If you look in your launcher and don't see your actual sims pictures on an ongoing game save. You could have a bad save in your saves folder. Are you asking because you think your save is corrupt? If so what is wrong with your game?
- graceymanors7 years agoSeasoned VeteranYou look at your save file and the sim's photo is all messed up or their lot isn't showing.

For example, the Vanderburg sim is showing up, but her lot image isn't.This isn't my pic, but it did happen to me the other day, and it caused my lot to keep flashing, I had to bulldoze the lot, replace it and save as instead of save. - What does it mean to have a corrupted save? What makes a save corrupted?
- SimplyJen7 years agoRising SpectatorI don't have too much experience with corrupted saves but always keep backups. Use Save as instead of Save so that you will always have something to fall back onto.

I suspect a variety of things can make a save corrupted. Eventually, a save may become corrupted just from playing it for to long.
One sure way to do it though is to delete a sim. Deleting the sim doesn't remove it from the game, it just makes it broken and invisible. "Springfairy556;c-16312126" wrote:

Missing lot thumbnails in the save game chooser can also be due to tents being put in chests. That's not corruption, just a bug. Moving tents out of chests will restore the lot thumbnail in future saves.
To answer the OP's question: one thing that would suggest game corruption to me would be pets (or boats) on a sim's family tree.- I had one save where Claire Ursine had died of electrocution and her baby got taken by the game's NPC social worker just before it started to get corrupted with my toddler ending up in law enforcement and his older sisiter was in the military while their parents were suddenly too young for careers and the grandparents were both elementary school students. It totally messed up that save to have had that baby removed by the social worker.Another corrupted save I had got that way after my family's baby got taken by the social worker and adults started shrinking to toddler height with adult sized heads and their interactions were wrong liek toddler or pet interactions.I had one toddler in that save able to be directed to do adult interactions which was a sure sign that save was corrupted and the UI failure was the last sign before it would only load partway and give a message stating the save was too corrupted to load.
I had one save where my family trees got messed up and started showing pets, vehicles and even household objects after a child got taken away by the game social workers beacuse he was failing at school. - xxnearlyperfectx7 years agoNew SpectatorI am having a huge issues where none of the careers are working and can never do a full day of work. She leaves when she gets there. Most days she can't get to work as it won't let her. Should I move to another town???

Those are more typically signs of:
-- Bad career outfits. Try altering them if you can, NRaas MC is probably required to reach that category.
-- World/work schedule misalignment. If using NRaas mods, a DebugEnabler Fix Homeworld might be able to take care of that. It's a command that can be found on City Hall, NRaas > DE > Options:(City Hall or the equivalent) > Sim > Fix Homeworld
I understand that you are not using mods (or weren't the last time you posted about them), but afraid there are limited things one can reach to fix without them sometimes when things go wrong with an ongoing save like that.
