Sims 3 on new Laptop

Hi
I am having some issues with my new laptop and sims 3. I was wondering what screen size other users are using, I have tried several and can't get one that fits the whole screen and is usable. I know my card (Nvidia 1050) is too powerful - I am getting FPS of over 400 with all settings on max, and I can't seem to get that down. But the screen size is a pain. Its either too small or too blocky. I have tried 1024X768 and 1250 X720, but neither work as well as my main pc. So I wondered what settings other laptop users us please.

Very good explanation. Thanks. I only have late night, world adventures & ambitions, so that is why I have no issues. And again on the new laptop - it is only those things.

I don't know what your new laptop has for a processor offhand, but you have a GTX 1050 graphics card. Even the mobile version is a much higher class of card than the 940MX and that makes a huge difference as to what the game can handle.
  • My laptop has 8 GB ram and 6GB in the card, The processor is i5 7300HQCPU @ 2.50 GH (Whatever that all means!)
Is that a powerful laptop for the sims?

    Yes. :)
  • Ok - now the frame rate is capped at 60, perhaps I will add a few more extras - when on sale of course!
