I can’t get my sims to graduate from high school?

They finish school when they have a birthday and turn in to young adults. Their graduation ceremony will be the following Sunday I think.
I waited until sunday when she I aged up 1 sim on maybe wednesday thursday or friday and still no graduation ceremony?
