I have no clue how many days are supposed to pass. If I can't get an opportunity I want/need for a story/video to continue I use NRAAS Master Controller to trigger it. The opportunity will only be in the list of available opportunities if the sim qualifies to get it and it just hasn't happened yet. I don't usually take much notice of the writer career opportunities.
