Below ground they have a floor devoted to skilling activities.
Poor Jules had a problem with the Chemistry table.

I have since started decorating this floor and the various activities now have their own rooms. It looks a bit more interesting that way.
The top level basement is where the household has its living quarters.

Eric Genie, the magician, is unstable and sometimes feels the need to take a few deep breaths - a brown paper bag comes in handy for this.

In the kitchen, someone had made fresh pancakes - and Bonehilda beat Eric to them. She put them safely into the fridge.

The dishwasher had broken and Vince started repairing it.

Bonehilda kept Vince safe from electrocution by mopping the floor for him.
In the top basement they have a room devoted to their computers. A few of the desks are free of computers in case they want to do a bit of letter writing.

I am gradually decorating rooms Sims spend time in so they get a Beautifully Decorated moodlet while in them and thereby gain Lifetime Reward Points faster.
