@Lexers615 I actually find that the teen stage is the easiest to guess. It's pretty simple - if you're a teen, you're between the ages of 13 and 19. The only way I could see anyone changing that is that they consider 18 and 19 year olds "young adults", but they're still teens. It's in the name of their age, so technically speaking they're teenagers until they're 20.
Actually, "Teens" seem to have a legal obligation to attend high school. Depending of the country in which you live in, this obligation ends between 16 and 18.

Your midlife crisis comment, I assume, was made because you misunderstand my lifespan.
I assume you're turning 30 in a few weeks. That's not the middle of my guessed sims' lifespan. The elder stage starts at 60. Elder sims can die at any point in their lifestage, but my elder sims usually live into what I'll assume is their 80s. Maybe even 90s in really well taken care of sims. So the "middle age" of my sims would be the same as real life - anywhere between 40 and 50. Averaging at 45.
You'd think you would be happy with my placement if you're turning 30 - I just called you a young adult!
EDIT: And I called you a young adult for 5 more years! As they say, 30 is the new 20!
Actually, I'll be turning 35 in a couple more weeks... Yeah, like it says in the game, feeling my younger days are gone, but also feeling like it was yesterday... ;)
