@Ghostvv489  If you double-click on one of your sims' portraits, do you jump to where the sim is, or does the camera still hover outside or over the house?

At any rate, I'd suggest evicting and placing the household back in Edit Town.  The sims will lose their promised wishes and opportunities but keep their careers and relationships.  If it doesn't work, you can quit without saving.
