Re: [CURRENT ISSUE 64-bit] red flashing game window

I've seen red flashing in a few different places, in different saves.  This one is from tonight, when trying to place a 40x40 empty lot in Edit Town, in Riverview:

The screen flashed bright red and faded to black the entire time but didn't resolve itself until I zoomed out.  I could not reproduce this a few minutes later.

The home lot (denoted by the green icon in the upper left corner) consistently goes to flashing red whenever I zoom out far enough.  The red usually covers the entire screen or close to it.  But I also got this when the camera was centered a bit to the left of the house:

This save hasn't crashed, at least not yet.

This exactly happened to me when I was playing in Bridgeport.

Me too! This is exactly what has been happening to me. I am playing on a self-built house on Isla Paradiso. It is a large house on a large lot. If I go into the map or into another lot it disappears. I will try to modify the graphics settings to see what happens, but it's kind of bumming me out, cause I love that house.

@borjagq  Please attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  You'll neeed to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search.  You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

If you're willing, I'd love to take a look at the house myself as well.  You can evict your sims and then save the empty house to the in-game bin (click on it to see the options).  There will be a corresponding entry in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Library; although the entries are all cryptically named, you can find the one you want by its date modified, which will match the time when you saved.  Please also let me know the address of the lot where the house is placed in your game.

If you don't want your sims to be affected by the eviction, wait until you're ready to quit.  Save your game, evict the sims and save the lot, then quit without saving.

It just happened in my game for the first time.

I am playing an old save - from 27 Feb 2012.  It is on a small custom world and the family has horses.

The red flash happened when I moved the camera down to the basement.  They seem to have two levels of basement - I have forgotten so much about this house. The red went away when I moved up a level.  The game saved with no problem.

I’m sorry, @puzzlezaddict ! I got to solve it by lowering the Texture Detail. That fixed the whole thing. However, the game was so buggy that I decided to remove all the game files and start a new game. I don’t have the files anymore. I’m sorry I can’t be helpful!
