I was able to save twice before error 16 appeared, all within a few minutes. I was able to do it until about 30 minutes had passed of playing the game. Save as and renaming the save doesn't change it and I continue to get the error.
@transonlyocean I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that disabling OneDrive helped, even when OneDrive wasn't syncing anything. So please try that.
I can't try that as I do not have onedrive installed.
@transonlyocean Try playing in a new Windows admin account. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't add any other content to your game.
Alright I'll try when I'm free but to be sure: Do you mean remove all mods and cc? I just want to make sure I do this right.
@transonlyocean Mods and custom content are stored in Documents, which is specific to each user account. So you won't need to remove anything; the new account won't have access to the current account's data. Just don't add your mods and cc or anything else when playing in the new account.
Hi apologies for a bad update; I was struggling with working out how to do that and eventually got so frustrated I decided to hell with it and uninstalled my game. I'll probably reinstall at some point and see if it works now but it just got too much for me to deal with the constant disappointment on top of real life problems. I thank you for all your help though, you've been great with this.
