Re: How Do I Move My Sims To A New Town Without My Other Families Being Deleted?

@SimHeldCaptive  Under EA's standard moving process, there's no way to preserve the old world within the same game when your sims move to a new one.  The moving process will destroy the previous town no matter how you do it.  But you can keep a version of your existing town as a separate save from the one you'd like to play going forward.  You could do this in one of two ways.  The first is to use "save as" and rename the save before moving the family through the phone.  The disadvantage to this is that some data, and potentially some corruption, will follow these sims to their new home.  But you'd have the old save in Appaloosa Plains, and the new one in SV.

The other approach is to save the family to the bin, start a new game, and place the household in SV.  (You could save the house to the bin as well, but be sure to do it separately.)  This fresh world would have none of the extraneous data from the previous one, and again, you'd have two distinct saves that you can keep playing separate from each other.

Regardless of what else you do, now would be a good time to use "save as" to create a backup copy or two of this save, so that if something goes wrong, you have a safe point to revert to.

By the way, the approach that keeps both towns in play in one save involves several NRaas mods, and it's not something I'd recommend trying unless you're already comfortable with mods in general and this creator's work in particular.
