Re: (MAC) How To Better Sims 3 FPS (Origin)?
@IsabellasDogCoco wrote:Hi,
Hey guys. I've been having a bit of an issue for a while now with the Sims 3 FPS. By the way, I'm on a MacBook Pro, and I also downloaded the base game and all of the expansion packs/"stuff"s from Origin, so I guess that you could say that I'm using and/or relying on Origin? 😕mileyembarrassed:.
Alright, so I've tried like, EVERYTHING. From deleting screenshots, videos and Featured Items to lowering basically every Graphic Setting in the in-game option panel. And yes, I've also tried to set my default frame rate to 60 using FPS Limiter (even if that doesn't make sense, I've tried almost everything 😕mileylol🙂. So, I was wondering: is there anything I can do to boost my FPS to at least 40 (sorry if that's asking a lot 😕mileyfrustrated🙂? I also want my graphic settings to be pretty normal/look normal. Thank you so much!
Cheers!

Hi
I'm here now. I work full-time and am in a different time-zone from most players so sometimes you need to wait a while before I can answer.
The difficulty with playing TS3 on a Mac is that Cider was used to make the game work on our operating system rather than a native port. This means that the game performs less well than it would on a PC. I don't know of any way to boost the FPS while playing on Mac OS X. If you want a better-looking game in terms of the graphics then you could try using Bootcamp to partition your Mac's hard drive and install a copy of Windows into the partition. You can then play the game in Windows, which will probably allow you a higher FPS and higher graphics settings.
If you want to try using Bootcamp, I would strongly advise you to now read the following resources.
Firstly, check this thread over at the Mac forums of the TS3 site: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/579888.page
Secondly, read the official Apple Support website for using Bootcamp: https://www.apple.com/uk/support/bootcamp/
