Re: sims 3 originally installed on my pc via disc want expansion packs from online.

@Steph111602  Are you talking about downloading the new packs through Origin?  If so, you should be able to combine the install—Origin is supposed to handle mixed disc/digital installs fine.  In practice, sometimes the disc-installed packs can disappear from the launcher.  The fix is usually to clear Origin's cache, uninstall Origin, or uninstall and reinstall the pack.

It would make things easier if you could also register your discs to your Origin account now; that way Origin should never lose track of any of the packs you own.  The codes you'd need to register are the same 20-character keys you used to install the discs.  If you registered those packs on the old Sims 3 site, that would also count.  You could use the same email address and password in Origin as you did on that site, and your packs should already be in your game library.  Then you could add whatever you wanted to the same account without worrying about it.

I am trying to go through Origin, but the app isn't working with my windows 10, it keeps telling me I need to update Origin and when I do the update I get an error telling me it can't continue.  I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and still get the same issue.  I also don't think I registered my disks with Origin way back when I first got them and have recently lost the codes, is there a way I can find those on my windows 10 laptop? I also lost the disc for the Supernatural expansion pack when I moved recently, would I have to buy a new one for that one?  I do appreciate any and all help with this. I miss playing Sims.

@Steph111602  For the Origin error, it's best to do a clean uninstall; you might have more success with the full installer, but that can wait until later.  To uninstall, first clear Origin's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

Then use Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine, either regular or portable) to remove all traces of Origin, except for the Origin Games folder.  Here's how:

    • Quit Origin, then right-click on the Task Bar and open the Task Manager.  Scroll through looking for Origin entries.  If you find any, click on them and End Task.
    • Download Revo Uninstaller from here (again, the free versions are fine).
    • Install Revo, open it, and uninstall Origin.  When it's finished, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use.  Select "Moderate" and then Browse.
    • If Revo finds any remaining registry entries, select all, delete, and click Next.
    • Revo will display "Remaining Data and Folders.  Select all of them except for the "Origin Games" folder.  (This is where your Origin games are located, if you have any.)  Delete the rest.
    • Restart your computer.

In case you do want to install Origin later, here's the direct download link.  Be sure to run the installer as an admin, as in, right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."

For your Sims 3 codes, see whether you can find them this way:

If you can't find the codes, you can't reinstall via disc or Origin, and it might not be a good idea to try to download any packs through Origin in case it doesn't work.  If you can find the codes and add them to Origin library, you should be fine.  And if you find your Supernatural code, definitely add it to Origin, so you can download it without needing to buy a new copy.
