The Sims 4 won't launch after an update – reinstalling doesn't fix it
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with The Sims 4 and EA.
A few days after a recent game update, The Sims 4 stopped launching on my PC and started displaying the following error message: “There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.”
Since then, I have spent hours trying to fix the problem. I have verified the game files through Steam, reinstalled the entire game, cleared the EA app cache, repaired the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, updated Windows, and tried several other troubleshooting steps. Nothing has worked. The game still refuses to launch.
What makes this situation even more frustrating is the amount of money I have spent on expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and other DLC. I have invested a significant amount of money in this game because I genuinely love it, yet I am currently unable to play it or enjoy the content I paid for.
I should not have to spend days troubleshooting a game that I have already purchased and installed. Recommending that players reinstall the game is not an acceptable solution when reinstalling it does absolutely nothing.
The Sims 4 is a game I care deeply about, and it is incredibly frustrating to have an experience that should be enjoyable turn into a constant technical nightmare.
I am asking EA to properly investigate this issue, provide a solution that actually works, and improve its technical support for players experiencing the same problem. Customers who have invested money in this game and its additional content deserve better than endless troubleshooting with no results.
I do not want another generic recommendation to reinstall the game. I want a real solution to this problem.
Please take this issue seriously.
