Re: "You don't have access" error

I'm encountering an access issue with a game in the EA app. When attempting to download the latest update, the app displayed the following error message:
"We've canceled the download because you don't own this game. To play, go to the Game Hub to get the game." To troubleshoot, I’ve tried the following steps:

  • Logged out and back into the EA app, uninstalled and installed the EA app
  • Cleared the app cache
  • Restarted both the app and my computer
  • Attempted to use the “Repair” function, which unexpectedly redirected me to Steam (even though this game is not managed through Steam)
  • Uninstalled the game, assuming I could reinstall it — but now I can’t install it at all, as the same “You don’t own this game” message appears
  • Tried to install the game in a new Electronic Arts folder, which also didn't work.

I’m certain I own the game, and this issue began only when trying to download the recent update. The EA app seems to have lost track of my ownership/license.

    If it makes you feel any better, I am having the exact same issue as well. Nothing has worked on my end. I reached out to EA but have not heard back yet.
